Why Gold Coast
The Gold Coast is Australia's premier international and domestic destination . It has gorgeous, golden beaches, pristine rainforests, theme parks, a vibrant nightlife and exotic cuisine . It has all the ingredients for a feast of fun for solo travellers, couples and families alike . Why, then, did it take me so long to like the place?
The Gold Coast is made up of several towns, stretching along 57 kilometres of coastline. In the background is the hinterland, an area of wilderness that in some places reaches right down to the sea. The beaches themselves are stunning, and with a warm subtropical climate and 287 sunny days each year this is where a lot of the action is. There is everything here to cater for the holiday maker. Several large theme parks, miles and miles of sandy surfing beaches, night clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, casinos, shopping arcades, water sports, theatres and golf courses
